End of 2019 was really heated in the Eastern Europe — newly elected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he is going to lift an existing gambling ban (it was established in 2009) in favor of casinos on the Black Sea coast.

The aftermath of this announcement was rather unexpected as suddenly Ukrainian parliamentarians started to prepare draft laws legalising all and every online and offline gambling verticals: from online casinos to slot parlors.

The process was complicated with its imminent ups and downs but in January 2020 draft gambling law has passed the first reading in the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament). This draft is now set on the road to be adopted in its final form later in January - February.

As of now, Dentons European Gambling and Gaming group has prepared a summary covering main pillars of the first reading draft law that you can find via this link: please click here.
