The National Broadcasting Council has ordered the withdrawal of commercials using famous Polish Christmas carols to promote a soft drinks manufacturer and an online auction platform.

Regulations require broadcasts to respect the audience's religious beliefs, especially Christian values.

Failure to do may result in the broadcaster being fined up to 50% of their annual fee due for using the broadcasting frequency.

Christmas is the favourite subject for commercials in winter. However, producers should be mindful of the regulations and of the Council's decisions in similar cases.
