On 4th February, the Malta Financial Services Authority issued a document outlining its strategic approach towards AML and CFT supervision, including its implementation of a National AML/CFT Strategy, from a firm's introduction into the sector (authorisation) through to its operation (supervision), using robust enforcement methods. The document explains how anti money laundering and combating terrorist financing fits into the Authority’s conduct and prudential supervisory framework and sets out principles that regulated firms are expected to observe.
