The Malta Stock Exchange ("MSE") has announced that it will be working in conjunction with Binance, one of the leading crypto-exchanges, in order to develop the MSX FinTech Accelerator Programme.

This programme is aimed to support Fintech startups and entrepreneurs to access professional business services and facilities and provide them with access to mentors who can help compete with international rivals. The programme will offer services and facilities from in-house accounting services and payroll, through to office space, state of the art communication, conference rooms, and a training center.

Malta is rapidly emerging as a pioneer in the industry, with a robust regulatory framework that is expected to be promulgated shortly. Combined with numerous other benefits, the island has attracted several blockchain companies to its shores, and currently hosts two of the top five crypto exchanges globally.

Binance, which is preparing to launch a cryptocurrency exchange platform from its Maltese base which will facilitate crypto-fiat trading, commented:

"We moved our operations to Malta precisely because it has demonstrated its progressive approach to supporting and developing the crypto and blockchain industry. Malta is creating a safe and legislated environment for the industry to become reputable, attracting companies like ours and many others. The Malta Stock Exchange reflects these values, providing the infrastructure for entrepreneurs and start-ups to flourish in what is otherwise a highly competitive industry".
