Following a lead identified by our client, we recently conducted an investigation of two large wholesalers in Soi Lalaisub and Sampeng Markets in Bangkok. Soi Lalaisub is well-known to those working on Silom Road, Bangkok's business centre, as a market selling a wide range of products including food, clothing and fashion accessories. Sampeng is a large wholesale market in Chinatown, also selling a wide range of products e.g. clothing, decorating items, toys, and bags.

The investigation revealed three warehouses linked to shops in both markets. On 7 December 2011, with the assistance of the Economic Crime Suppression Division Police (ECD), a raid was conducted on five targets. This resulted in the seizure of 1,453 pairs of infringing shoes bearing the well-known FitFlop brand. In the course of the raid, we were able to obtain very useful information from the targets in relation to their suppliers. On the basis of this information, we are currently conducting further investigations.
