Two verdicts for plaintiffs in pleural mesothelioma cases defended by Ford Motor Company.

On August 22, 2019, a jury in southern Illinois returned a verdict for plaintiffs Alfred and Pamela Bennett in a mesothelioma case against defendant Ford Motor Company. Mr. Bennett had worked with brakes and clutches manufactured by Ford from the 1960's through the 1980's, and claimed to have developed mesothelioma of the pleura as a result. The jury's verdict included more than $6,000,000 in compensatory and $2,000,000 in punitive damages against Ford. On August 30, 2019, a jury in Los Angeles returned a verdict for plaintiff Arthur Pitt in another pleural mesothelioma case, finding Ford Motor Company 100% at fault. The jury's verdict included $8,500,000 in compensatory damages for Mr. Putt and his wife Janet, plus $25,500,000 in punitive damages.
