sbe Entertainment Group, the owner of major hospitality brands including SLS, Delano, Mondrian, Hyde, Katsuya and Cleo, is expanding its footprint in South Florida with the addition of the SLS Resort Residence & Marina Hallandale Beach.

The mixed-use project, estimated at $220 million, follows sbe’s recent, $319 million strategic sale of a 50% company stake to AccorHotels.

Set to open in 2022, SLS Resort Residence will be the 12th sbe resort and 4th SLS branded property in South Florida. The property, developed in partnership with PPG Development and its principal Ari Pearl, will offer 290 hotel rooms including 50 condo/hotel units, and 250 branded apartments, along with sbe's award-winning Katsuya and S Bar food and beverage concepts. The resort will also feature an 18-hole championship golf course, a 10-court tennis complex and a 48-slip Marina.

SLS Resort Residence & Marina Hallandale Beach will take over what was previously the Diplomat Golf & Tennis Club.

News of the deal was reported by The Real Deal and Hospitality Net, among other outlets.
