On June 15, the Federal Trade Commission's ("FTC")
Bureau of Consumer Protection ("BCP") issued a comment in response to the Consumer
Product Safety Commission's request for comments on potential
hazards associated with internet-connected consumer products. The
BCP also outlined the FTC's cybersecurity education and
enforcement work and encouraged manufacturers to review the
FTC's guidelines on how to predict and mitigate
privacy and security risks.
