On January 5, the Department of Commerce and Department of
Homeland Security ("DHS") released a draft report for public comment in response to
the May 11, 2017, Executive Order on Strengthening the
Cybersecurity of Federal Networks and Critical Infrastructure. The
report, titled "Enhancing the Resilience of the Internet and
Communications Ecosystem Against Botnets and Other Automated,
Distributed Threats," identified five goals "that would
dramatically reduce the threat of automated, distributed attacks
and improve the resilience of the ecosystem." The final report
is due to President Trump on May 11.
