Dudley plans to retire in mid-2018, to ensure that a successor is appointed before his term ends in January 2019. Dudley joined the FRBNY in 2007 as executive vice president and head of the Markets Group, and was named the 10th president and CEO of the FRBNY on January 27, 2009. He was appointed for his first full term as president and CEO in 2011 and reappointed in 2016.
