U.S. Attorney General Appoints Interim U.S. Attorney For SDNY

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions appointed Geoffrey S. Berman to serve as
Interim U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Mr.
Berman is expected to be sworn in on January 4. Interim U.S.
Attorneys can serve for a period of 120 days.
Prior to the appointment, Mr. Berman served as a partner at
Greenberg Traurig. He served as a federal prosecutor in the
Southern District from 1990 to 1994.
Mr. Berman will replace Joon Kim, who has served as the acting
SDNY U.S. Attorney since the departure of Preet Bharara.
