New Jersey Governor Chris Christie appointed Ford M. Scudder as Acting Treasurer of New Jersey with the intent to nominate Mr. Scudder as Treasurer, for confirmation by the Senate.

Mr. Scudder's leadership is scheduled to commence on November 9, 2015.

Mr. Scudder returns to his native New Jersey from his dual roles as Chief Operating Officer of economic research and consulting firm Laffer Associates and Senior Research Analyst of investment portfolio manager Laffer Investments.

Mr. Scudder studied economics and tax policy at Princeton University (BA in Economics) and Vanderbilt University (MBA) and has written articles about the economic impact of tax increases, including publication in the Wall Street Journal.

When Mr. Scudder arrives at Treasury, Robert Romano, a former Assistant Attorney General who became Deputy State Treasurer and was appointed Acting Treasurer when then Treasurer Andrew Sidamon-Eristoff stepped aside in July 2015, will resume his Deputy role in the Treasury Department.
