American Conference Institute's 3rd Annual Bank and Non-Bank Forum on Mortgage Servicing Compliance that takes place on November 20-21, 2014 will help industry participants meet the challenges of the newly proposed set of rules from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) for mortgage servicers.

Partner Donald Lampe will be speaking on a panel titled "Mortgage Servicing Transfers: Meeting the Operational Demands Associated with Increased Regulations and Scrutiny by the CFPB and Other Agencies." Some of the topics of discussion will include:

  • How the CFPB's supervisory and enforcement functions are working together in the mortgage servicing transfer area;
  • New nonbank examination findings;
  • How the industry has responded and what enforcement and/or litigation trends have arisen from these new requirements;
  • New issues with regard to loan ownership transfers and escrow disclosures, transferee servicer requirements, distressed asset sales, repurchase transfer; and
  • How the new CFPB servicing rules may have raised barriers to entry for new servicers.

Mr. Lampe also will co-lead the Post-Conference Master Class on November 21st titled "Right Sizing Your Servicing Operations to the New Normal: Enterprise-Wide Compliance for Large and Small Servicers."
