At its quarterly board meeting, the MSRB Board reviewed recent measures to provide data and resources to stakeholders, including the publication of (i) a daily trading summary to help in an understanding of COVID-19's impact on the liquidity of the municipal securities market (see prior coverage) and (ii) weekly summaries of state and local disclosure reports (see prior coverage).
In addition, the Board:
- voted to seek approval from the SEC to extend the examination schedule under Rule G-16 ("Periodic Compliance Examination") for regulatory authorities examining dealers for compliance with MSRB rules;
- encouraged MSRB staff to focus on post-pandemic recovery; and
- directed MSRB staff to continue to analyze pre-trade data submissions by alternative trading systems.
