Harry Jackson, III has been named among the 2015 Diverse Attorneys of the Year for displaying the significance of diversity through his actions in and out of the courtroom.
Jackson is an active member of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Nation and this past year, earned himself a seat on the tribe's nine-member council. As a council member, he is responsible for establishing tribal laws and resolutions, administrative and fiscal policies and legislative governance. Other duties include coding tribal law and advising the principal justice on matters that arise in the tribal Supreme Court.
In 2014, Jackson's involvement in the Amaya Inc. acquisition of Rational Group earned him recognition as "Dealmaker of the Year" by Finance Monthly. He is also an appointed chairman of the Casino law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
While attending law school at Rutgers University, Jackson served as a research editor for the Rutgers Law Review and earned a publication for his student note titled, "The Incomplete Loom: Exploring the Checkered Past and Present of American Indian Sovereignty." The note earned him the "Rutgers Academic Achievement Award for Best Student Note, Comment, or Scholarly Paper."
Jackson was also a member of the Rutgers Moot Court Board and represented the Rutgers National Team for two years as an attorney. Accompanying these achievements, he also won the school-wide Nathan Baker Mock Trial Completion in his second real.
