The Illinois Supreme Court announced that it has amended its rule of attorneys advising those in the medical marijuana industry by revising its concerns with professional conduct. Based on the new ethics rule, Illinois attorneys may advise their clients on state related medical marijuana issues as long as they include information regarding federal law and policy as well.

Fox Rothschild Partner William Bogot, who is a founding member of the Illinois Cannabis Bar Association says attorneys "no longer have to worry about compromising their ethical obligations" when advising clients in the Illinois medical marijuana industry.
