When did you join Deloitte and what's your role within the company?

I joined Deloitte's cyber risk services department as a graduate consultant in September 2017. I now work with a large client putting together an Operational Technology security programme.

What is your educational background?

I graduated with a degree in Physics with Nuclear Astrophysics from the University of Surrey in 2017. During my time at university I also completed a year in industry with BAE Systems Applied Intelligence (cyber services) and a short summer internship with Deloitte (financial services audit).

Why Cyber Security? And why Deloitte?

I find vast and complicated systems fascinating, which is why Cyber security naturally grabbed my attention. What particularly interests me is how cyber-attacks have the potential to cause significant physical damage: even pose a risk to life. Deloitte has a rapidly expanding cyber capability and in particular the area that interests me most- Operational Technology and Industrial Control Systems.

What do you like best about working here?

Working at Deloitte means having something different to do every week. At this stage in my career everything is new to me, through Deloitte I am gaining a broad exposure to not only topics specific to cyber security, but also the strategic decision-making that underpins everything an organisation does.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym – in fact with the consulting lifestyle it's an absolute must to go out of your way to be healthy.
