When did you join Deloitte and what is your role within the company?

I joined Deloitte in September 2017 as an Industrial Placement student in Technology Consulting.  

What is your educational background?

I currently study BSc Management at City, University of London, Cass Business School 

What made you pursue a career in your field and why did you apply to Deloitte?

Coming from a Management/ Finance background, I didn't have much exposure into technology but I was very interested in new and developing technologies. I knew that Deloitte would be working at the forefront of that innovation with new technologies and I wanted to be part of that process and be able to contribute to projects that could have a huge global impact.

What do you like best about working for Deloitte?

At Deloitte, one of the best things is the amount of support available to you. Coming to Deloitte, I didn't have much corporate experience and so the different levels of support, both formal and informal, have helped to improve my confidence and helped me to achieve my goals to work in tech.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of Deloitte, I often bring my two passions of photography and cycling together and go on adventures to places I've never been before to see new things. As well as this, I act as a "CityBuddy" for students at my university offering advice and answering personal development questions.

When did you join Deloitte and what is your role? 

I am Vikesh Parekh and I joined Deloitte in September 2017 as an IP Analyst in Technology Consluting, EA Oracle. At the moment my role entails writing a business case for a financial systems transformation of a FTSE100 telecommunications company.

From your POV, what are the top 3 reasons for joining the apprenticeship or Graduate programme or internship?

Joining the IP scheme offers the opportunity to:

  1. Build your network with some of the most successful people in the industry
  2. Learn about a career in consulting and help build on your strengths.
  3. Learn and develop transferable skills in a vast variety of areas from PowerPoint and Excel, to Public Speaking, to industry specific tools.

In one paragraph, how would you describe your apprenticeship or Graduate journey or internship?

Throughout the IP journey you develop a wide range of skills through working on a variety of interesting projects. The people that you are exposed to form a strong support network, enabling you to advance your career and reach your goals and objectives.
