On September 29, in her first major speech since becoming UK
Information Commissioner, Elizabeth Denham previewed UK data
protection laws after Brexit and stated that the United Kingdom
will need to adopt a new data protection law. She further stated
that the new data protection law should be developed on an
evolutionary basis to provide a degree of stability and clear
regulatory messages for data controllers and the public.
