Business Software Alliance, BSA, was established in Turkey, following the 1995 amendments to Turkish Copyright Law. These amendments meant that for the first time computer software was counted as work. The amendments also granted extreme urgency to the prosecution of copyright violations in the private sector.

Mehmet Gun & Co, the Istanbul law firm which has been active in copyright law enforcement for a long time, has been appointed to advise BSA and to enforce copyrights and to educate the practitioners.

BSA activities involve, a 24 hour hotline operation, marketing activities, seminars for practitioners, litigation enforcement, all of which help them in raising public awareness.
