In a recent interview for Bloomberg TV our colleague Emil Lukaev discussed over the topic regarding the lawfulness of the tax optimization which the business uses through the jurisdictions with preferential tax regimes and the ways of to resolve the issue with the offshore companies following the disclosure of the "Paradise" papers. Att. Lukaev correctly noted that the usage of tax optimization processes and the establishment of such companies are not illegal. Тheir use could be limited only through creation of such incentives for the investors and for the companies, creating valued-added products, which would make them to abandon the usage of offshore companies. The reasonable spending of the public funds by the governments and decrease of the governments' debt could result in possible lessening of the tax rates so that the business and people not to resort to the offshore companies.
