Proposed Rules Signal A More Expansive And Intensive Examination Of Foreign Investments In The United States
Although not yet in final form, and therefore not officially in effect, in many respects the proposed rules are already in force. They reflect practices that have been adopted in recent years by the inter-agency Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), the regulatory body that administers those US restrictions on foreign investment that are grounded in national security concerns.
