Welcome Christopher Randall, Danielle Johnson and Filip Pejovik

Chris is an Associate at MacDonald & Associates

Chris graduated from Western Law in 2018 where he was drawn to employment law and the precarious position that both employers and employees often find themselves when trying to navigate employment relationships.

Chris brings a broad range of both commercial and civil litigation experience to MacDonald & Associates. Prior to joining the firm, Chris articled and practiced as an associate at a litigation boutique in Toronto where he acted for both employers and employees in a wide range of litigation matters including wrongful and constructive dismissals, severance pay and related negotiations, and human rights matters.

Chris brings an empathetic and practical approach to the practice of law with the ability to pinpoint the essential issue on which a matter may hinge. Throughout his career, Chris has developed a passion for serving clients and will always do his best to ensure that his clients are in the strongest legal and bargaining position possible.

Chris is actively engaged in his community as a volunteer with Don Valley Community Legal Services and as a member of the Community Services Committee.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and extended family at their cottage in Muskoka, out fishing, or enjoying the company of friends at one of the many great restaurants that Toronto has to offer.

Danielle is an Associate at MacDonald & Associates

Danielle brings over 4 years of law firm experience in employment, criminal and mental health law and civil litigation. Following her undergraduate studies at Dalhousie University, she completed her Honours LL.B at the University of Kent in the United Kingdom and was awarded a scholarship to pursue graduate (LL.M) studies in International Law.

Following her call to the Bar in 2019, Danielle returned to Toronto and joined a litigation firm specializing in employment, estates, commercial and real estate litigation. She has appeared before the Ontario Small Claims and Superior Courts and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.

Danielle was awarded the Norman Cooper Prize for Advocacy from the University of Kent and went on to hold internships with the Foundation for Human Rights (FHR) in Johannesburg, South Africa and the Warsaw office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

A fervent advocate in protecting clients who face human rights abuses, Danielle is delighted to be contributing to the extraordinary work of one of Toronto's outstanding Employment & Labour Law firms at MacDonald & Associates.

Filip is an Associate at MacDonald & Associates

Filip received his LL.B. from the University of Birmingham, along with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law & Society from York University. During his undergraduate days at York University, Filip volunteered with the Workplace Labour Studies Student Association, where he assisted as its Financial Officer. Filip's passion for volunteering continued at the University of Birmingham, where he was a member of the school's pro bono and street law group.

Filip has practiced exclusively in employment law since his call to the Bar in 2017. Before he joined MacDonald & Associates, he worked at another well known employment law firm in uptown Toronto. It was at this firm where Filip learned how to advocate and help both employees and employers with all of their matters. Filip not only worked on civil cases, such as constructive dismissals and wrongful dismissals, but also assisted in all aspects of human rights litigation, and management side labour.

Currently, Filip's practice involves all types of civil matters, including wrongful dismissals and constructive dismissals, human rights matters before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and the Canadian Human Rights Commission, and providing all forms of day-to-day legal advice.

In his spare time, Filip loves being with his family (including his Vizsla dog), travelling to Boston to catch a Red Sox game, and keeping an eye out for the best coffee in Toronto.
