The Real Estate team has advised MiTek on the development and acquisition of its new EMEA headquarters in what is believed to be the largest pre-sale in Worcestershire for more than 20 years.

Planning permission has now been submitted for the 278,048 sq ft manufacturing facility, which is to be situated at Worcester Six, near Junction 6 of the M5. If planning is approved, MiTek will acquire the freehold to the site, with the building to be delivered by commercial property developer Stoford as part of the next phase of its existing business park.

MiTek, a global supplier of integrated software, services, engineered products and automated solutions to the building industry, will use the new facility to serve its businesses in the UK, France, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and South Africa.

The team was led by real estate partner Tom Baines, with support from construction partner Richard Green and principal associate Benjamin Shore.

Tom Baines commented: "We are delighted to have supported MiTek on this landmark project. It is an exciting time for their business and this new, state of the art facility will support their continued growth across Europe and beyond. The transaction also represents another significant forward funding deal for the Gowling WLG Real Estate team, adding to our strong track record in industrial and logistics projects."

James Morgan, managing director for MiTek's EMEA operations, added: "It has been a pleasure working with the Gowling team. Their expertise in development projects of this nature, combined with their commercial pragmatism, really helped us navigate through the complexities of this transaction, ensuring our interests were looked after every step of the way."
