The Isle of Man Film and Television Fund has recently been established to make available equity investment to film and television productions shooting on the Isle of Man. This new incentive offers:

  • Up to 65% of the budget as direct equity investment
  • No upper or lower limits
  • Full assistance with financial structuring of budgets

Additionally, film and television projects will be able to apply for production credits (replacing transferable tax credits) where the project is being funded wholly or in part by a recognised broadcaster.

Production credits come in the form of a grant offering:

  • Up to £350,000 per production

Emphasis will be given to equity investment where productions are not wholly broadcaster financed. However, it is possible to combine Equity Investment with production credits to create the optimum financial structure.

To qualify for investment your project should:

  • Be able to be filmed wholly or in part on the Isle of Man
  • Be capable of spending at least the equivalent of 20% of the below the line budget with local service providers
  • Be otherwise fully financed
  • Have a sales agent and/or a distributor attached
  • Have a completion bond in place

In all cases, emphasis will be placed on the commercial aspects of the project. The sales and distribution aspects of your application will be considered as a vital element in the decision making process.
