Following on from our July 2019 article and our 20 September 2019 update on the Investment Limited Partnerships (Amendment) Bill 2019 (the "Bill"), consideration of the Bill at Committee Stage in Dáil Éireann (the "Dáil" (lower house of the Irish Parliament)) is complete with no amendments being made. It is intended that the Bill will proceed to the Report Stage in the Dáil next week and consideration by Seanad Éireann (the "Seanad" (upper house of the Irish Parliament)) will commence in January 2020.

Minister for State with special responsibility for Financial Services and Insurance, Michael D'Arcy, advised that further amendments to the Bill will be proposed at Seanad Stage with the intention being that these amendments will be brought before the Dáil for consideration by the end of January. Once the Bill has passed through the Dáil and the Seanad and any amendments have been agreed, it will be signed into law. The exact timing of this remains uncertain.
