On September 23, the French Data Protection Authority
("CNIL") published an article (source document in French) discussing
an international audit by 25 different national data protection
authorities of more than 300 connected devices to assess their
privacy impact. Among other findings, the audit results showed that
the majority of connected devices did not provide clear and
complete information regarding personal data collection and
processing, data storage conditions, or modalities of personal data
erasure.
