The Statutory Term For Annual Leave Increased In Ukraine

In accordance with the new Law On Vacations the minimal term of paid annual leave has been increased from 15 working days to 24 calendar days effective from 1 January 1997. According to the law the employee is entitled to the paid annual leave after 6 months of working for the employer. Additional holidays are granted to certain categories of employees as detailed in the Profession classification listing approved by the Government. Maximum duration of annual holiday including additional holidays (where applicable) cannot exceed 59 working days for the main category of employees. Monetary compensation in lieu of accrued annual leave is not allowed.
