The Ministry of Foreign Trade of Ukraine has adopted regulations on granting licences for export and import of goods for 1996 in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 10 January 1996. A licence is required to export precious metals and scrap, precious and semi-precious stones and import pesticides, medicines and personal hygiene products. One condition for qualifying for a licence is conformity of the contract to Ukrainian legislation and international trade rules. The contract price should also be in line with the product price prevailing on international markets. (Regulations of the Ministry of Foreign Trade No 134-a of 26 February 1996)
