Feb 28, 2018 – The Nova Scotia immigration office has launched a new Physician Stream aimed at attracting qualified doctors to work for the provincial health service.

General practitioners, family physicians and specialist physicians from abroad are being sought by the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) and the Izaak Walton Killam Health Centre (IWK).

The stream is specifically design to help fill positions the health authorities have been unable to fill with a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Candidates must first apply to the Nova Scotia immigration department for a provincial nomination, before applying for permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
