Sudbury in Ontario has launched its application procedure for candidates and employers through the Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot.

The north-eastern Ontario city will initially target the Mining supply and services and tourism sectors. Applications from any sector will also be accepted from candidates already living in Sudbury.

Officials have published a list of 20 target occupations through the RNIP.

Sudbury is one of eight communities to launch its website for the pilot.

The others are Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay in Ontario, Claresholm in Alberta, Brandon and Altona/Rhineland in Manitoba, plus Vernon in British Columbia.
