Ecopetrol, the Colombian Oil Company, has informed that debt bonds and participation securities for an amount of 840 million dollars will be issued. This operation was approved by CONFIS, the Council for Fiscal Policy, as a foreign securitization of the production of oil from the Cupiagua and Cusiana fields. This will be the largest issuance in the country.
Ecopetrol will place 300 million dollars of bonds in the country and 240 million dollars in participation securities that will give the right to the direct production of hydrocarbons from the fields owned by Ecopetrol. The other 300 million will be placed in the international markets as a securitization of the right of production of Cusiana.
Colombia's biggest electricity distributor, Interconexion Electrica S.A. E.S.P . I.S.A. is also in the initial process of issuing shares in a full registered IPO in Colombia and abroad, with specific tranches particularly designed for the public and ISA employees.
