Appleby's Hong Kong office acted as BVI and Cayman Islands counsel to InfraRed NF, in a USD45.9 million financing investment with HeNeng Group to finance the development of a plot of residential land in Changsha. InfraRed NF is a leading Greater China real estate investment manager and is a joint venture between InfraRed Capital Partners and Vervain. InfraRed NF has recently been named 'Real Estate Debt Fund Manager of the Year, Asia-Pacific' at the Private Debt Investor Annual Awards 2019.

This is the third investment that InfraRed NF has invested in Changsha.

The team advised InfraRed NF on the debt and security structure from a BVI and Cayman Islands law perspective and assisted them throughout the transaction as offshore counsel. The transaction was led by Partner Fiona Chan, who was supported by Senior Associate Prabha Sasidharan and Associate Karina Li.

The loan is secured on a plot of residential land in Changsha with credit enhancement from a residential development in Ningbo.
