As Withers welcomes tax partner Bryan H. Kelly to the Los Angeles office on July 1, several news outlets spotlight Bryan's move.

On July 8th, Bryan was featured at the top of the California legal publication Daily Journal's "On the Move" column in the print edition. In the feature, he discusses joining Withers as a partner because of the people and the successful tax practice.

"I was continually impressed by the collegial spirit, technical rigor and business sense demonstrated by everyone I met [at Withers]," Bryan said. "Withers' international reach and robust tax capabilities are critical to offering the integrated suite of tax and other legal solutions that our clients need and expect."

Bryan, whose clients include multinational companies and successful families with complex and often cross-border interests, described himself to the Daily Journal as a technician and problem solver, helping clients to "achieve their business and personal goals in the most tax-efficient manner possible" and to "manage tax risk and negotiate key tax points in business transactions."

Bryan also highlights in the article how the federal U.S. tax overhaul has lead businesses to review their existing structures and practices to comply with the new laws.

He said, "All of this really puts a premium on our ability as tax advisors to be practical and have a deep enough understanding of our clients' drivers to really align tax planning with business and investment strategy."

Bryan was also featured in Bloomberg Big Law Business' "Wake Up Call" column on July 2nd and Law360's article, "The Laterals Audit: Tax Attorney Moves In June," on July 3rd.

Bryan joins the LA office's expanding tax team, which includes four attorneys in the cross-border corporate and income tax group.
