Montréal (Canada) - Fasken is pleased to announce that Martin F. Sheehan, a partner with the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, has been awarded the distinction Advocatus Emeritus (AdE) by the Barreau du Québec. He will receive this honour during the annual ceremony to be held on November 20 in Montréal.

Martin is recognized by his peers as being one of the leading commercial and product liability litigators in Canada. He appears before courts of all jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and has in-depth knowledge of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

"We are very happy that the Barreau du Québec has awarded Martin this honorary title," stated Éric Bédard, Managing Partner for the Québec Region. "Throughout his career, he has demonstrated that he meets the stringent selection criteria required to merit this distinction. His dedication to the profession and involvement in the community are remarkable."

The Barreau du Québec has been bestowing the distinction Advocatus Emeritus (AdE) for over ten years. It recognizes the outstanding careers, impressive professional contributions and social commitment of its recipients. Only 26 from among the nearly 27,000 members of the Barreau du Québec were selected to receive the AdE designation this year.
