The government has issued amendments to the Malta Residence & Visa Programme which have consequently entered into force after the official publication of the amendments in the Government Gazette No. 20,056 of the year 2018.

The above amendments to the Malta Residence & Visa Programme are primarily focused on the investment requirements. Whilst previously investment was limited to only Government Stocks such as Bonds issued by the Malta treasury, the amendments found in the Government Gazette have now made it possible for a prospective applicant to acquire debt or equity securities listed on the Official list of the Malta Stock Exchange. Furthermore an investment in these securities may also be achieved through an investment in licensed Collective Investment Schemes which can also be found on the Official List of the Malta Stock Exchange.
