The Ministry of Interior, through publication on the Daily Gazette, on October 10, 2018, issued the Agreement by which visa requirement in ordinary passports for nationals of the United Arab Emirates, is cancelled.

Such Agreement was issued taking into consideration the plan named "Mexico with Global Responsibility” contained in Mexico's National Development Plan 2013-2018, which seeks to expedite people's international mobility in benefit to Mexico's development.

Likewise, under the principle of reciprocity and with the purpose of strengthening bilateral relations between both Countries, especially with regards to the enhancement of tourism flows, trade and attraction of investments; the United Arab Emirates is planning to cancel in the near future, the visa requirement for Mexican nationals intending to enter their country as visitors.

In this sense, since October 31th, 2018, same date in which the Agreement will come into effect, nationals from the United Arab Emirates seeking to enter Mexico as Visitors with no permission to execute gainful activities, will be entitled to do so, merely by making use of their valid and current passport, and complying with entrance requirements and statistics.
