Walkers' Jersey office has advised AIM listed Gama Aviation Plc on the acquisition by one of its subsidiaries of Aviation Beauport Holdings Limited, Jersey's largest private aircraft charter and handling business.

Walkers Jersey partner Adam Chester, assisted by associate Emma Giannini, provided both corporate and regulatory advice to the Gama group, a UK based provider of maintenance and ground support services to the private aviation sector, which recently received approval for the acquisition from the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority.

Walkers had previously acted for Gama Aviation Plc in relation to its reverse takeover of AIM listed Hanger8 Plc in 2014.

Gama is one of the world's largest business aviation service providers with operations in Hong Kong, Sharjah, Geneva, Teterboro, Chicago, West Palm Beach, Dallas, Las Vegas and Farnborough.

Jersey is seen as an ideal location by the Gama group given its importance as an economic centre, as a growing base for business aircraft and following Jersey's launch of a dedicated private aircraft register in November last year.

"We are looking to grow the business, and our presence in Jersey is an excellent strategic fit for the group," said Gama group's founder and chief executive Marwan Khalek.
