On May 19, 2016 the Argentine Board of Employment, Productivity and Minimum Salary provided an increase of the Minimum salary through Resolution 2/2016.

In this context, it was decided to fix a minimum wage for every worker included in the Labor Contract Law system, Law 20.744, workers of the Argentine Public Administration and workers that belong to every entity and public institution in which the Argentine State acts as an employer, according to the following settings:

  • Since June 1, 2016 it will consist of six thousand eight hundred ten pesos ($6.810) for monthly workers in full time employment and thirty four pesos and five cents ($34.05) per hour for daily workers.
  • Since September 1, 2016, it will consist of seven thousand five hundred sixty pesos ($7.560) for monthly workers in full time employment and of thirty seven pesos with eighty cents ($37.80) per hour for daily workers.
  • Since January 1, 2017 it will consist of eight thousand sixty pesos ($8.060) for monthly workers in full time employment and $40 pesos and thirty cents ($40.30) per hour for daily workers.

The amount of the Minimum salary will be proportionally adjusted in the cases of part-time contracts and reduced workdays.
